COURT HOUSE — The Middle Township Department of Recreation is making final preparations for the 16th Annual Harvest Festival to be held on Oct. 26 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. along Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House. This year’s festival includes more children’s activities, a brand new Cornhole tournament, and a free tree giveaway.
This year’s Harvest Festival features plenty of live entertainment. Local favorite Keith Hickman will perform live on Mechanic Street, while the “Soul Shine Band” will play in the municipal parking lot. Children will be able to decorate and take home a free pumpkin, and enjoy a strolling balloon artist, character drawings, new rides, and a petting zoo with camel rides. Kids can also participate in a costume contest. The Festival includes a special costume contest for pets.
Other popular attractions include a mechanical bull, and a pumpkin pie bake off contest. The 1st Annual Harvest Festival Cornhole tournament will be held with a $20 admission fee per team. The Festival always includes plenty of quality vendors selling crafts and foods.
The Middle Township Harvest Festival is proud to welcome the New Jersey Tree Foundation. The Foundation has partnered with the Middle Township Environmental Committee to give away 200 trees to residents of Cape May County on a first-come, first-served basis. Available species are Red Maple and Dogwood. There is a limit of one tree per household. Tree planting and care instructions will be provided when trees are picked up.
The rain date for the festival will be Oct. 27. For more information, visit www.middletownship.com.
