COURT HOUSE – The Performing Arts Center of Middle Township will open its autumn season on Saturday night, Sept. 28, with the first of three shows returning for encore performances over a six day period.
The varied fare will include a woman’s harmonizing barbershop chorus, a comic- hypnotist and a popular nightclub and WOND radio performer from Atlantic City.
The Cape Shore Chorus of barbershop singers, under the direction of Jayne McDonough, will be marking the tenth straight season in their 24-year history with a performance at The PAC. The musical theme this year will be “Love and Marriage” and added entertainment will be offered with performances by the women’s quartet “Euphonix” and the male “Frank The Dog.” Both groups have earned high finishes in barbershop singing competition this year. The performance on Sept. 28 will begin at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $15.
On Friday night, Oct. 4, at 7 o’clock, international hypnotist Dr. Bengali will be making his third appearance at PAC in two years in a benefit performance for the Middle Township High School band. The “stars” of the show are actually volunteers from the audience who fall under his hypnotic spell creating hilarious situations. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.
As Columbus Day approaches, radio personality Jim Craine and his Atlantic City All-Star Band will appear for the second time at The PAC in a musical preview of the holiday with a program called “Dat’s Italian” on Saturday night, Oct. 5, at 7:30. Craine will pay tribute to stars of Italian heritage including Louis Prima, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Opening the act will be internationally acclaimed accordionist Carmen Vilanza who will play songs from the classic Italian song book. Tickets are $15.
Reservations for all shows may be made by calling 463-1924. The Performing Arts Center is situated at 212 Bayberry Drive, Cape May Court House, one mile east of exit 10 of the Garden State Parkway. There is free parking on the premises.
