Middle PAC to Host Two More Christmas Events

COURT HOUSE – The Performing Arts Center of Middle Township will continue its celebration of the holiday season by hosting two more attractions on the weekend of Dec. 17 and 18 Some 80 performers will appear on the huge stage of the state-of-the-art, 1,000 seat theater during the two performances.
The first show, “Christmas at the PAC, Our Holiday Gift To You,” will be presented on Saturday night, Dec. 17, at 6 o’clock under the sponsorship of the Middle Township Council on the Arts. The next day, Sunday, at 3 p.m. the John Walters Community Band will present its annual holiday concert.
Both shows are free although for the Saturday event the audience is asked to donate a new, unwrapped toy and/or a non-perishable food item. There is free on site parking.
“Christmas at the PAC,” under the direction of Lauri Flemming, is a variety show with a cast of approximately 50 children and some adults.. It will feature many holiday favorites including traditional, contemporary and international songs and dancers performing the holiday favorite, “Waltz of the Toreadors,” from “The Nutcracker.” Choreographer is TJ Kuchon who has choreographed many North Jersey community theatre and high school productions and has appeared in improvisational theatre at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank.
The John Walters Community Band is a swing type band featuring 30 retired and present day active musicians. It has been under the direction of Richard Ludwig, former director of the prize winning Middle Township high school marching band, for four years, and will include guest vocalists Kathy Varallo, Lisa DiBruno and Nathan Gable in its program of music that will range from “Christmas Swings” to “Some Enchanted Evening.”
