COURT HOUSE – It will be “Monday Night Live” in addition to “Monday Night at the Movies” when the Performing Arts Center of Middle Township continues its film series, in conjunction with Pro Media Group advertising agency, on Feb. 10.
PAC managing director Kay Aspell has announced that two Atlantic City comedians and two producers will speak following the 7 p.m. showing of “When Comedy Went to School.”
The comics are casino performers Michelle Tomko and Scott Friedman. They will talk about their careers in show business, how they began and where their careers have taken them. Tomko has played at nightclubs at the Showboat and Resorts while Friedman has been a feature attraction at the Borgata and the Tropicana. Also speaking will be Jacquelyn Tocci and Dan Sinclair, producers of Rock Solid Productions of Atlantic City and the Cape May Comedy Festival in 2013.
“Among the films shown on The PAC’s big screen are award-winning documentaries not often seen in this area and it is our goal, in keeping with PAC’s educational objectives, to present informative speakers whom audiences can question afterward,” Aspell said. The series, which runs into May, has already featured as guest speakers a rabbi, a magician, a beekeeper and a 9-11 first-responder.
“When Comedy Went To School” traces the history of many famous comedians to their entertainment roots in the Catskills. Appearing in the film are Jerry Lewis, Sid Caesar, Jackie Mason, Mort Sahl and Jerry Stiller.
Tickets are $8. The Performing Arts Center is situated at 212 Bayberry Drive, Cape May Court House, one mile east of exit 10 of the Garden State Parkway. There is free parking on the premises.
