Middle PAC Plans for Mirth, Music and Magic This Summer

COURT HOUSE – An exciting lineup of shows featuring mirth, music and magic will be coming to The Performing Arts Center of Middle Township this summer, managing director Kay Aspell has announced.
Pianist Linda Gentille and her Jersey Shore Pops Orchestra will present four concerts highlighting the music of such greats as The Lettermen, Frank Sinatra, Barry Manilow and her early mentor, Liberace. Meanwhile, an encore performance of the “Rat Pack Together Again” show will offer with songs and comedy by three performers who reenact the “Rat Pack” days of Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. Additionally, hilarious magician Doc Swan will bring his tricks and humor to The PAC in what he calls “a laugh-a-minute show.”
The entertainment begins on Saturday night, July 12, when two-time Grammy award nominee Mark Preston, formerly of The Lettermen, will perform with The South Jersey Shore Pops. Preston spent 10 years with the world famous Lettermen. A week later on July 19 Canadian Claude Eric, a top entertainer on cruise ships, will highlight a program called ”Sinatra Sizzles.” On Saturday night, Aug. 9, the orchestra will supplement its music with dance. The program called “Broadway on Tap” will feature Melissa Giattino, a former Rockette who also danced in the Broadway musical, “42nd Street,”’ and award-winning tenor Ron DeStefano who has performed at Lincoln Center and with the Broadway national touring company of “Fiddler On The Roof.”
The orchestra’s summer season concludes on Saturday night, Aug. 23, when it presents its “Great Balls of Fire Show” featuring the music of Liberace, Manilow, Jerry Lee Lewis, Billy Joel, Elton John and Roger Willlams. All performances are at 7 p.m
Tony Sands “The Rat Pack Together Again” show, lauded by a critic as “one of those shows that you must see while you’re in town,” is returning to The PAC on Wednesday night, Aug. 20, at 7:30 after scoring a big hit at the Performing Arts Center last year. Featured in the cast are Tony Sands as Frank Sinatra; Johnny Petillo as Dean Martin and Geno Monroe as Sammy Davis Jr.
Swan,who will bring his magic to The PAC on Monday night, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m., has been a magician for 35 years and is considered one of the most popular and versatile entertainers in his field. He has earned wide spread popularity from performances in theaters, circuses, fairs and at Walt Disney World.
