Messiah Lutheran Church to Hold Fall Festival Oct. 6, 2013

OCEAN VIEW — Messiah Lutheran Church, Ocean View, in partnership with Ocean View Veterinary Hospital and contributing partner, Rental City of Vineland, will be offering a Fall Festival honoring St. Francis of Assisi.
At 10:30 a.m. there will be the Feast of St. Francis Worship Service, an outdoor service with a St. Francis theme. Bring your pets to church. Trained and experienced volunteers from the Ocean View Veterinary Hospital will be on hand to help with restless pets.
The Festival will be from Noon to 3 p.m.
Blessing of the Animals by Pastor Kelly at Noon, 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Demonstration and Exhibitions –Cape May County Animal Shelter, K-9 Unit of the CMC Sheriff’s Office, NJ Nature and Environmental Center, Save Our Strays of Sea Isle City, and Turtle Rescue.
There will be activities for children.
There will be complimentary refreshments (hot dogs, pretzel bits, pet treats, and water for pets and humans) There also will be food for sale—knockwurst and sauerkraut with a bag of chips, homemade baked goods, soda and cider. Pre-packaged doggie treats have been donated by Ocean View Veterinary.
Funds raised will benefit the Cape May Animal Shelter, NJ Nature and Environmental Canter and Save Our Strays of Sea Isle City. The food that is sold along with donations made during the Festival is the only source of fund raising.
Pets must be up to date on their shots and owners should have their pets’ rabies certificates available if possible. Dogs must be on leashes; cats, small mammals or reptiles and birds must be in cages. Horses and other large mammals must be wearing a halter.
