CAPE MAY – For those who didn’t have the opportunity to meet the cast and crew of East Lynne Theater Company’s “The First Fifty Years” at the opening night after-show party at Pier House Restaurant, or at the recent after-show Q&A, there is one more opportunity June 27 at a special reception, starting around 10:10 p.m. at The First Presbyterian Church of Cape May, 500 Hughes St., where this Equity professional company performs. Tasty homemade hors d’oeuvres, which include stuffed baby artichoke hearts with Italian cheeses; panko, with garlic and parsley stuffing; baked plum tomatoes with goat cheese and pesto filling; and mini quiches with spinach, feta and black olives, will be served.
The cost is only $10 and all proceeds will be split between The Food Closet and the nonprofit ELTC. Patrons do not have to have just seen the show to attend, but reservations are appreciated and may be made by calling ELTC at 609-884-5898 or by e-mail at eastlynneco@aol.com
In the roles of the married couple in “The First Fifty Years” are Beckley Andrews and Samuel Douglas Clark, both new to ELTC. Beckley was in the Broadway production of “Gypsy” starring Patti LuPone. Currently, she is choreographing students in ELTC’s Workshop production of “The Dancing Princesses” that will be performed admission-free July 1 at 8:00 p.m. Sam worked extensively in Australia before arriving in NYC a week before Super Storm Sandy.
“The First Fifty Years” is directed by ELTC’s artistic director Gayle Stahlhuth, with Lee O’Connor stage managing, assisted by Michael Mottola and Meg Dowling.
This dramatic, romantic, and humorous look at fifty years of a marriage runs through July 19 at 8:30 p.m. It is the usual Wednesday through Saturday schedule, except there is no show July 4, and an added show July 6.
