CAPE MAY – South Jersey author Janice Wilson Stridick will be greeting members of the public and signing copies of her book, “Alice Steer Wilson, Light Particularly,” at the Carriage House Gallery Shop at the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., May 3, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This Carriage House Book Signing event is sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC).
“Alice Steer Wilson, Light Particularly” features the artwork of acclaimed artist Alice Steer Wilson (1926-2001), whose paintings of Cape May, N.J. have captured the admiration of many. Written by her daughter, the book features “gorgeous images of a seaside village and a woman artist’s lifetime love affair with the way light fell on people, places, and things she adored.”
Janice Wilson Stridick’s writing appears in numerous journals and her book and art reviews have appeared in a variety of publications. In 1992 she launched Southbound Press and served as editor and publisher of The View In Winter, a three-generation work of art and poetry. She has an MFA in writing from Vermont College and has taught writing at Rutgers University and Bucks County Community College. A resident of Southern New Jersey, she lives with her architect husband and one cranky cat.
She will also be guest curating a Carriage House Gallery Exhibit opening next year, April 24, 2015, that is drawn from her book.
