CAPE MAY— How did Victorians live without electricity? Did you know crayons are more than 100 years old or that games like charades and pin the tail on the donkey were popular during the Victorian Era?
The Emlen Physick Estate, Cape May’s only Victorian house museum at 1048 Washington St., is hosting a day of discovery for children of all ages during Kids Day, sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities (MAC), on Wednesday, July 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Fun, entertaining and educational activities transform the grounds of the Physick Estate on Kids Day. Learn what life was like more than a century ago from the parlor to the playroom on self-guided, kid-friendly tours of the Estate from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Visit the bubble pool and create bubbles with giant wands and stop by Aunt Emilie’s Drawers to dress up in vintage hats, shoes, dresses and suits. Ride a giant Victorian bicycle, see animals from the Cape May County Zoo, touch living sea creatures at the tank hosted by the Wetlands Institute, get “green” with the MUA, meet representatives from CASA, or visit the Nature Center of Cape May’s bird exhibit.
Cool off with free water ice samples offered by Rita’s and enjoy face painting, hat making, and Victorian games like ring toss. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. pony rides around the grounds will be taking place.
Also on Kids Day, the Carriage House Tearoom and Café located on the grounds of the Estate will be hosting Teddy Bear Tea Parties for children and their families.
Admission to Kids Day is $7 for children (ages 3 to 12) and includes admission to Emlen Physick Estate’s self-guided children’s tour and activities on the grounds (excluding pony rides).
Adult admission to Kids Day is free. Adult (ages 13 and older) admission to Emlen Physick Estate’s self-guided children’s tour is $7. Pony rides are $3.

Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
