Lower Township Residents Enjoy Several Fall Festivities

Lower Township was full of fun fall activities and events over the weekend.
The Haunted High School is made possible with the hard work and creativity of the participating students, faculty, staff and community volunteers.
The township’s annual Costume Halloween Parade and Costume Contest was held on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at Historic Cold Spring Village. Ghouls and goblins of all ages were encouraged to show off their costumes either as parade participants or spectators during the event.
As a string band played, the costumed kids proudly paraded through a picture perfect day at Cold Spring Village. A the end of the parade, top honors were awarded to various age divisions
The Costume Halloween Parade and Costume Contest is sponsored by the Lower Township Recreation Department and seems to grow in popularity every year. Thanks to all the employees, volunteers, community groups, and residents for supporting the parade.

The annual Pumpkin Festival sponsored by the Lower Township Rotary Club was also a high-point on Saturday, Oct. 18. The festival was held throughout the grounds of Cold Spring Village from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and featured hayrides, pumpkin painting, games for children, face painting and a haunted barn that is run by a local Boy Scout troop.
Oktoberfest, hosted by Town Bank Fire Company, returned to the Cape May County Airport Oct. 17 – 19. The event featured a variety of seasonal beers, live music, food, crafters and family entertainment.
During all the events, volunteers were preparing and building the scary sets for the Lower Township Haunted Trails. The trails along the county airport in Lower Township are going to get seriously spooky on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for this free community event.
