CAPE MAY — The Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation and the Cape May-Lewes Ferry have partnered for 8 weeks of free outdoor entertainment, including summer concerts, family fun nights, and movies on the spacious lawn at the Cape May Ferry Terminal. These free public events will be held every Wed. through Aug. 27. Concert and family nights begin at 5:30 p.m. and Movie nights at dusk.
“The Ferry is so much more than a boat ride to Delaware, it’s also the perfect place to gather for events, fun and relaxation,” said Lower Township Manager Mike Voll. “Come out to the Cape May Ferry Terminal to enjoy great family fun, live music and entertainment every Wednesdays during the summer.”
“It’s great to be able to expand our partnership with Lower Township to benefit the community,” said Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations. “Great music and family fun at our terminal with scenic views of the Delaware Bay….it’ll be a summer to remember.”
Schedule of Events:
July 30: BStreetband (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
In classic tribute to “The Boss,” the BStreetband honors Bruce Springsteen by covering his songs in a collaboration of guitar, horns drums and vocals. Come see why professional sports teams hire the BStreetband and what every Springsteen fan is talking about between tour dates.
Aug. 6: Eagle Mania (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
Eagle Mania is a tribute band to the rock band covering the band’s hits from the 70’s and 80’s including: “Hotel California, “ “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” “Life in the Fast Lane,” and “Take it easy.” Fly like an eagle to the sounds of Eagle Mania.
Aug. 13: Danny V’s 52 Street Band (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
In over 30 years of admiration, Danny V. honors his idol, “The Piano Man” Billy Joel, in grand fashion by covering his songs in tribute for the public. Come listen to your favorite Billy Joel songs played by the other Piano Man, Danny V. and his 6-piece 52 Street Band.
Movies on the Green (Aug. 20 Beginning at dusk)
Movie showing will be displayed “drive-in style” at dusk, viewing classic family films and favorite from today. Feel free to bring blankets, chairs and anything to make you feel at home.
Family Fun Nights (July 23 & Aug. 27) (5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.)
Family Fun Nights offer a fun filled activities and performances including magicians, face painting, balloon artists a DJ and of course, Pirate Pete.
During the events, food and beverages will be available for purchase at the ferry terminal. Carry-on alcoholic beverages will NOT be permitted on the property. The schedule of events will be held rain or shine.
