Local Talent to be Featured at Shore Grand Slam

CAPE MAY – The Center for Community Arts announces the Shore Grand Slam on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 6 p.m. at Cape May Stage’s Robert Shackleton Playhouse at the corner of Lafayette and Bank Streets in Cape May. Winners of the Storytelling, Poetry Slams and Bull Slams from the Winter Slam Series will compete for the grand prize. The theme for this event is “Once Upon A Time…”. It’s an open theme that participants will undoubtedly have a lot of fun with.
With the Bull Slam, stories can be true, partially true or completely untrue. You win the bull slam by being the best at putting one over.
Monthly winners in the storytelling category are: Steven Church, Kate Cooper, Cat Cronin, Chase Jackson and Chris South. Monthly winners in the Poetry category are: David Check, Ed Reeves and Peter Belasco. The Bull Slam winners are John Alvarez, Steven Church, Kate Cooper, and Jill Lance.
An after party sponsored by the Lucky Bones Backwater Grille will be held immediately following the event. Come out to Cape May Stage’s Robert Shackleton Playhouse for the Shore Grand Slam. This is a must see event.
