Local Potters Plan Exhibit At Arts Center

OCEAN CITY — Ventnor residents Janet Kurland and Susan Van Duyne will exhibit their pottery at the Ocean City Arts Center Sept. 1-30.
A “Meet the Artists” reception open to the public will be held Fri., Sept. 10, 7-8:30 pm.
Van Duyne and Kurland, longtime friends, have taught at the Ocean City Arts Center for more than 14 years. The artists have very different styles. Van Duyne’s pottery is earthy and carved. It reflects her love of nature.
Kurland’s ceramics are bright and vibrant. She creates intricate designs that are hand painted on the piece.
Rosalyn Lifshin, executive director said, “Susan and Janet are two of our finest teachers. They have worked to raise funds to create the area’s best pottery studio. The work theyare exhibiting has been especially created for this show.”

The Ocean City Arts Center is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m to 3 p.m. Saturday. Fall classes begin Sept. 20.
