Estell Manor – Artist Thomas Graef of Estell Manor has received a Special Recognition Award for artwork in the “13th Annual Judeo-Christian Juried Online International Art Exhibition” hosted by Upstream People Gallery.
This international exhibition received approximately 200 entries from around the world and 34 artists were selected by the juror Laurence Bradshaw, Professor of Art at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, U. S. A. Professor Bradshaw states this about this specially recognized work: “‘THOMAS GRAEF of Estell Manor, New Jersey in his photo-illustration/construction “A Gift of True Repentance” is strong indeed with the scourged Christ on the cross and the repentant soul kneeling at the foot of the cross. Also effective is the high angle at the top of the cross looking down.”‘
The exhibition will be featured online at www.upstreampeoplegallery.com and continue for 12 months, closing March 31, 2012.
Artist’s statement about the work: “‘A Gift of True Repentance” is a piece that reminds me that even our most hidden disdain for our true selves and deepest desire to turn from evil is, in and of itself, an offering from God. I wanted this image to represent God looking upon his child accepting his gift.”‘ – Tommy Graef, www.tomstwin.com
