Live Concerts Return to the Cape May Ferry Terminal

By Press Release

CAPE MAY — The Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation and the Cape May-Lewes Ferry have partnered to present five free outdoor concerts on the spacious lawn at the Cape May Ferry Terminal. The first free concert took place on July 8 and featured The Sensational Soul Cruisers. All concerts begin at 5:30 p.m.
“We thoroughly enjoy working so closely with Lower Township to hold these events for the community,” said Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations. “It’s wonderful that our terminal can serve as venue for the concert series. It’s a fun night that local and visiting families can all enjoy, and with a beautiful sunset over Delaware Bay to top it all off!”
Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the Ferry’s outdoor bar and grill, “On the Rocks,” or inside the Cape May passenger terminal. Carry-on alcoholic beverages will NOT be permitted on the property. In the event of light to moderate rain, the show events will be held as planned.
Schedule of Events:
July 15: B Street Band (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
Jam to all of Bruce Springsteen’s classic hits with this tribute band! In a collaboration of guitar, horns, drums and vocals, these guys honor the Jersey legend in a lively, passionate way. “The Boss” would be impressed!
July 22: Separate Ways the Band (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
Separate Ways the Band gives the ultimate Journey Tribute Show on the East Coast. Enjoy an authentic Journey line-up that will make you feel like you’re back in the 1980s. Loads of fun!
July 29: The Morrison Brothers Band (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
The Morrison Brothers Band will take to the Terminal with their country rock line-up. A blend of its New Orleans, LA, and D.C. musical roots, these guys have an awesome, unique sound. Come hear their hit song, ‘Little Miss Whiskey’, a 2014 country song award-winner!
Aug. 5: Danny V’s 52nd Street Band (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
Get ready for a Billy Joel-inspired night of fun. In over 30 years of admiration, come listen to Danny V. honor his idol, “The Piano Man” Billy Joel with his equally passionate 6-piece 52nd Street Band. There’s a reason these guys are the world’s longest running and #1 Billy Joel Tribute Band!
Gehrke noted that visitors and residents should bring their own lawn chair or beach blanket to relax and have a great time on our terminal green.
