Lecture Series to Be Held at the Cape May County Museum

By Sponsored Content

COURT HOUSE — We have a story, and it’s not just old and dusty. The Cape May County Historical and Genealogical Society is embarking on a mission to share stories and conversation based on our recent history. The Society was formed in 1927 and has amassed a wonderful collection of objects and documents which are relevant to the history of Cape May County. Their intention is to enhance the “old” with the “new.” You don’t need a lineage back to the Mayflower to appreciate our way of life in Cape May County. In an effort to preserve our local culture, the Historical Society will be presenting a monthly lecture series with subject matter that touches all of our lives here in South Jersey.
Mark your calendars now, on Oct. 16 at 7 p.m., the Museum will be hosting Dale Gerhardt, local press photographer, who will share his collection of storm photos from “Sandy.” Nov. 6 at 7 p.m., Stan Sperlak, well known local artist and Middle Township Historian, will present a talk featuring vintage photographs, with a focus on Middle Township.
If you are interested in sharing your history or story, or know someone who should, please contact the Museum at 609-465-3535 or through www.cmcmuseum.org.
