Learn to Weave Baskets at the Cape May Library

CAPE MAY — The Cape May County Library invites you to discover the art of basket weaving on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Cape May City Library. The workshop on basket weaving will begin at 9:30 a.m., break for a half-hour lunch at 1 p.m., and continue until 4 p.m. The library is located at 110 Ocean St.
The basket weaving workshop is open to both beginners and experienced weavers. Various aspects of weaving will be taught allowing participants to create a useful work of art. Each person will have completed a basket by the end of the workshop.
Instructor Laurie Schiffelbein became captivated with weaving while attending a workshop held in Honolulu, Hawaii and enjoys sharing this traditional craft with others. Schiffelbein has a degree in Studio Art from Atlantic Cape Community College.
Class size is limited: therefore, registration with a valid library card is required. A non-refundable material fee of $10 is due at registration.
