KT Sullivan to Perform At East Lynne Theater

By Herald Staff

CAPE MAY — Rex Reed in “The New York Observer” states KT Sullivan is in “a league of her own,” and Stephen Holden in “The New York Times” claims that watching her is “a thrill ride.”
For two nights only, Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30 at 8 p.m., this incredibly gifted performer will be at The First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St.
Through a collaboration between East Lynne Theater Company, The First Presbyterian Church, and Arthur Shafman Artists International, KT Sullivan will be trying out her new show “Rhyme, Women & Song,” in Cape May before opening at The Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel in New York City.
A regular headliner at the Oak Room since 1992, Sullivan recently was a guest star on Garrison Keillor’s “Prairie Home Companion.”
The spark for “Rhyme, Women & Song” began with Sullivan’s acclaimed salute to one of Broadway’s greatest lyricists, Dorothy Fields. Now, she expands her vision to display the work of Field’s peers and heirs who have continued to enrich the Great American Songbook.
To the inimitable Dorothy’s “Sunny Side of the Street” and “The Way You Look Tonight,” she adds Carole King’s “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” and Joni Mitchell’s “A Case of You.
Tickets are $30 and may be purchased through East Lynne Theater Company’s website www.eastlynnetheater.org or by calling 609-884-5898.
Those who wish to see Sullivan at The Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, 59 W. 44th St., New York City from May 3-28, may call 212- 419-9331 or go online to www.algonquinhotel.com.
