STONE HARBOR — The 2010 Jersey Cape Shell Show and Sale will return to the Wetlands Institute Aug. 20, 21 and 22 from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.
Kids crafts will be featured from noon-2 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
The King of Pop will return for one more show at the 2010 Jersey Cape Shell Show Aug. 20-22. Of course he will be in shell form, crafted from mussel, pen and limpet shells and singing into a sea urchin microphone.
Michael Jackson’s shell figurine can be seen dancing atop an angel wing shell, along with other amazing exhibits, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Those who have never been to a Jersey Cape Shell Show shouldn’t stop till they get enough. There is so much to see. Shell crafters from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida and other areas will converge to show their artistic and scientific exhibits.
Jewelry, gifts, and rare, as well as decorative seashells, are for sale. Take a chance to win fabulous raffle prizes, or compete in the largest shell competition for clam, razor clam, moon, oyster, or local conch shells.
Children can craft their own shell items from noon to 2 p.m. on each day of the show. Admission is only $2 for adults, and free for children under 12 or Jersey Cape Shell Club members. Yearly club membership is $8 for individuals or $12 for the entire family. Sign up for membership at the show, and receive a free pin along with free admission to the show.
