Judy and Liza to be Born Again in Middle PAC Tribute Show

COURT HOUSE – Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli, the highly popular mother-daughter team of the past, will be born again at the Performing Arts Center of Middle Township on Saturday night, April 13, at 7:30 when two Las Vegas performers, backed by male dancers, will present their tribute show for the two stars on the stage here.
Denise Rose as Garland and Suzanne Goulet as her daughter will bring back to life the two stars in a show called “Liza and Judy, Together Again” and they will sing many songs the stars made popular, among them “Over The Rainbow,” “ New York, New York,” “Rockabye Your Baby,” “The Trolley Song” and “Cabaret.” The show will recreate the looks, the voices and the dance steps of the legends and will have the concept of mother and daughter being reunited to do just one more show together.
“We are very excited at The PAC to bring this show to Cape May County for the first time,” said Kay Aspelll, the theater’s managing director. “ Denise and Suzanne have received standing ovations wherever they performed and they have been booked here as part of our policy to present cultural events in this county that are not usually seen in the area.”
Rose and Goulet have been presenting the show on cruise ships and in Las Vegas nightclubs since 2008. Before that they were doing singles of the stars. Rose, a one time stand-up comedienne, is coincidentally a native of Minnesota, as was Garland, and critics say she has a remarkable natural likeness that resembles the real Garland. So much of a lookalike is she that she was invited to perform in the Judy Garland Festival in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Goulet, who was born in Montreal, Canada, studied in New York City and brought her single show, “A Moment With Liza” to Berlin in 1997 and then to the Caribbean. In 2003, before she teamed with Rose, she directed, choreographed and starred in “Liza and Judy, Together Again” in Miami , on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship and in the Catskills.
Tickets are $25 and may be ordered by calling 463-1924. The Performing Arts Center is situated at 212 Bayberry Drive, Cape May Court House, one block east of exit 10 of the Garden State Parkway. There is ample free parking on the grounds of The PAC.
