OCEAN CITY – Sculptor Jose Chora, co-owner of ChoraLeone Gallery in Somers Point, New Jersey will bring his striking metalssculptures to the Ocean City Arts Center in May.
Chora has produced large outdoor sculptures for many large corporations and cities. He was commissioned by Ocean City’s Community Arts Projects (CAP) to produce the 22 feet high bike rider at 9th and Haven Avenues. This marks the beginning of the city’s bike path.
He has also produced pieces for AtlantiCare Health Group and for large restaurants such as Girasole’s in Atlantic City, and Blue Grillhouse and Wine Bar in Bethlehem, Pa. In addition to his large statues, Chora produces tabletop pieces that are beautiful and emotionally moving. He also has incorporated his art into stairway railing in restaurants and signs.
Mr. Chora’s exhibit will be at the Ocean City Arts Center Gallery, located in the Community Center at 1735 Simpson Avenue, throughout May.
The Public is invited to a “Meet the Artist” free reception, Friday, May 13, 7 pm to 8:30 pm.
For further information contact Rosalyn Lifshin, Executive Director, at rozl@oceancityartscenter.org, or (609) 399-7628.
