COURT HOUSE – Linda Gentille and The Jersey Shore Pops will be continuing their 8 concert season on August 4 at 7:00 p.m. with “Classics Rock” starring conductor Linda Gentille. The show is a high energy 90 minute show filled with classics arranged in a modern style. The popular orchestra shows have been described by critics as a cross between an Andre Rieu Show and The Trans Siberian Orchestra.
Gentille dazzles audiences around the world with her beauty, charisma and musical virtuosity. Growing up in Pacific Palisades, California, Linda began her musical studies taking classes with her father at Roger Williams’ studio in Los Angeles. Her immediate grasp of complex and advanced music, her inherent technique, and her incredible ability to quickly and accurately memorize lengthy musical scores, soon endeared Linda to even her most senior instructors. After advancing quickly through the Roger Williams program, Linda then studied under Julliard trained Richard Kohfeld of Santa Monica and won numerous piano awards and accolades as a young pianist.
As a major headline act, Gentille has performed in over 30 US states, and 20 countries. She began her career with The Liberace Show as a teenager and quickly developed her own touring show. She performed on numerous television shows and became known as an international piano superstar in China. Gentille’s unique and incredibly entertaining concert performances continuously have her audiences demanding return engagements year after year. During her concert career, Linda has performed over 1000 concerts worldwide. One of the many highlights of her career was a performance at The White House Correspondents’ Dinner during President Ronald Reagan’s administration.
Recently, she completed her 13th concert tour of China where she holds the world record, according to the Chinese Ministry of Culture, for performing more concerts (over 105 to date) in China than any other artist…truly an incredible achievement and the envy of the international entertainment industry as China becomes an ever increasing destination of strong interest for entertainers from all corners of the globe. As Linda does in many other foreign countries, in China she conducts her press conferences, and communicates with and sings for her audiences in their own language, an additional talent that further ingratiates Linda to her huge international following. In all, Linda speaks eight foreign languages, including Mandarin.
When not conducting the Jersey Shore Pops, Gentille arranges music and performs with her own big band orchestra on luxury cruise lines and in performing arts centers across the United States. Gentille conducts and performs over 75 concerts each year with hundreds of different musicians nationwide. Her unique ability to adapt to various music styles from Classical to Jazz has made her a sought after concert act in performing arts centers around the world.
The Jersey Shore Pops is a big band orchestra with string section, modeled after the orchestras of the Frank Sinatra era which featured a string section along with the big band sounds.
