COURT HOUSE – Middle Township’s Mayor Dan Lockwood and Cape May County Freeholder Kristine Gabor helped Linda Gentille & The Jersey Shore Pops kick off their opening season concert with The Irish Tenor. The Mayor and Freeholder welcomed the audience for this celebratory concert. The packed house at the Performing Arts Center rewarded the star of the show, Colm Fitzmaurice, with 3 standing ovations during the concert.
Mayor Lockwood commented, “It was a great night of entertainment from a talented group of musicians. It was a perfect mix of light hearted humor and music that everyone would enjoy. I”ll be back again and again!”
This marks the 4th Official Summer Concert Season for the fabulous and exciting orchestra. The orchestra was founded in 2009 by current music director and conductor for the orchestra Linda Gentille. She comments, “We are so excited to make the Middle Township PAC our home venue because it is such a fantastic performing arts center and a true gem in Cape May County. The fact that we can offer such great entertainment at affordable prices with free and convenient parking right here in the middle of the county is amazing. The director of the PAC Kay Aspell has been such a tremendous supporter of the Pops and we are so grateful for this opportunity in the county.”
The very busy Cape May County Freeholder Kristine Gabor took time out during the weekend to attend the concert and introduce the orchestra and conductor. Gabor stated, “”The Jersey Shore Pops is proof that Southern New Jersey is rich with talent. I enjoyed a superb performance by the Pops and Linda Gentile and encourage everyone to enjoy a summer concert at the PAC. You won’t be disappointed.”
The Jersey Shore Pops will continue to perform in Middle Township but plans to expand their outreach in 2014 with performances at the Ocean City Music Pier, The Strand Theater in Lakewood, and the new Convention Center in Cape May.
