Jersey Pops Orchestra seeking musicians

By On Deck Staff

The Jersey Pops Orchestra is seeking new musicians for its debut concert next summer in Cape May County.
The New Jersey Pops Orchestra is a new orchestra founded by New Jersey entertainer and pianist Linda Gentille. Gentille has performed over 1000 concerts worldwide and currently performs in arts centers around the country with her Ragtime Orchestra.
She began her career as a teenager with The Liberace Show and then went on to tour China for 10 years. She became the world record holder for more concerts in China than any other western artists.
The Jersey Pops Orchestra will make its debut next year in an area performing arts center with funding from local businesses. The orchestra will be performing Broadway, light classics, pop rock hits, ragtime music and jazz.
Jersey Pops is seeking musicians who are versatile in their technique and are excellent chart readers. High school students as well as professional musicians may audition, as the orchestra will be a mix of professionals and very talented student musicians.
The following musicians are still needed for the orchestra: trumpet, percussion, electric bass, keyboard, alto sax, bass sax, tenor sax, flute players that also double on either sax or trumpet, trombone, cello, violin, upright bass and guitar.
Musicians interested in auditioning for the orchestra should send a resume and tape or CD to: Jersey Pops Orchestra, 88 Route 610, Petersburg, NJ, 08270. E-mail resumes or MP3 samples to linda@JerseyPopsOrchestra.org.
