CAPE MAY — Jazz Vespers will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Hughes and Decatur streets, Sun., July 18 at 8 p.m. with the Howard Isaacson Band.
Isaacson is one of the best sax players and stage performers in the area. His music swings gently and rocks consistently. His group will play clas-sic jazz tunes and con-temporary classics in styles ranging from be-bop to contemporary light jazz.
Also on Aug. 1 at 8 p.m. the Rita Stafford Band will storm the Jazz Vespers stage. Stafford, an amazing jazz vocalist whose vocal and stylistic range is just extraordinary, will lead a group of all-star jazz veterans for this gig.
She can belt and she can croon. The band will perform contemporary classics, to seldom-heard jazz gems.
