Jack and Jill of America Inc., Atlantic City Chapter Supports Center for Community Arts

CAPE MAY – The Atlantic City Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., the nation’s premier non-profit family organization, proudly announces that the Center for Community Arts’ Youth Arts Program (YAP) will be the recipient of over $3,000.00 in proceeds from its 2011 fundraising event – a Hat Show and Silent Auction held at the Carriage House in Galloway, New Jersey on April 5, 2011.
Chartered in 1948, the Atlantic City Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., whose boundaries include Atlantic County, Cape May County and Cumberland County, has as its mission, the dedication of its resources to improving the quality of life for all children. Cape May New Jersey’s Center for Community Arts, is a multicultural education organization whose arts and humanities programs foster creativity, community building, and appreciation for the rich diversity of the Cape May community. The Center’s Youth Arts Program has arts and social activities every Saturday night throughout much of the school year for youth in grades 5 through 8, with a new theme each semester. Activities run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, are free and include a light supper. Locations include Cape May, Lower Township and Wildwood.
Through the years, the Atlantic City Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. has supported various service organizations which provide programming channeled toward addressing some of the contemporary issues confronting our youth. In recent years significant contributions have been made to the Atlantic City Boys and Girls Club and the Southern Branch of the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
A presentation of the check will be made on May 24, 2011 at 6:00 pm at the office of the Center for Community Arts, 712 Lafayette Street, Cape May, New Jersey. Center for Community Arts Board members, Jack and Jill of Atlantic City officers and members of both organizations will be in attendance.
