Interactive Artists Add New Dimensions to AC Boardwalk Art Show

Atlantic City, NJ – The Atlantic City Arts Commission and The Noyes Museum of Art of Richard Stockton College, announces participation of interactive artists in the Atlantic City Boardwalk Art Show. The Boardwalk Show will be Saturday, September 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Atlantic City Boardwalk at Kennedy Plaza across from Boardwalk Hall.
Edward Peahota, of Washington Township, paints fast and to the beat of music, and bills himself as a speed painter. You may have seen some of his previous work as he painted billboard art in Atlantic City for over 20 years. Currently, he has a shop in Wildwood, where you can engage in the process by viewing and hearing the music and observe as he paints to the rhythms of his music. (www.billboardshuttle.com)
Shaun Edwards, graffiti artist, grew up on the Barnegat Bay, but remembers always seeing the lights of Atlantic City in the night’s sky. These radiating colors are alive in his art as this graffiti artists enthuses his art with vibrant colors and imaginative imagery on the large format facades and surfaces that he chooses for his pallets.
Heather Hires, face & body painter, a lifelong resident of Atlantic County, began by attending art classes and then creating large art displays in the Absecon Schools. Working in calligraphy, sign design, wall murals, children’s canvases, and personalize gifts, allowed her to segue to her current passion – body painting. She has painted for many local fundraisers and loves that she can share her art with people. Body painting brings art to a whole new level, another canvas to apply her intriguing out- of- the- box freehand art. (www.heatherart.vpweb.com)
“In many cultures the human body has been used as a canvas for expression. We are very excited to have Heather create a performance piece by painting on the human figure.,” says Michael Cagno, Executive Director of the Noyes Museum of Art. Jack Plackter, Atlantic City Arts Commission Chairman of the Boardwalk Art Show Committee adds, “The interactive artists, musical and theatrical entertainment bring a fun and exciting element to the show. The arts are everywhere in Atlantic City all of our performers are from the South Jersey area.”
The AC Boardwalk Art Show is on Saturday, September 7 from 10am until 5pm. The show features fine arts and crafts including pottery, sculpture, painting, glass, photography and more. Theatrical and musical performances will be held in Kennedy Plaza throughout the day. The show is located at Kennedy Plaza, across from Boardwalk Hall and Trump Plaza.

There will be a Revival of the Atlantic City Boardwalk Art Show Reception at Dante Hall on Friday, September 6 from 5:30-7:30 where judge’s work will be on display and you’ll have a chance to meet and mingle with the artists. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling The Noyes Museum of Art (609) 652-8848; tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.
