House Lighting Contest to Illuminate Sea Isle’s Night Sky

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY – The Sea Isle City Department of Recreation, in cooperation with the Sea Isle City Garden Club, will once host Sea Isle’s 2011 Holiday House Lighting Contest. Any property owner wishing to enter the contest must pre-register by submitting an official entry form to the Department of Recreation by Tue., Dec. 6. Entry forms can be obtained at City Hall, 4416 Landis Avenue, at the Recreation Office, 6108 Central Avenue, or online at www.seaislecitynj.us. Judging, which is done by Garden Club members, will take place on December 8 at 5:30 p.m.
Judges will consider three main aspects of all properties entered in the contest: Aesthetics, Creativity and Effort. Prizes for this year’s House Lighting Contest include $100 for first place, $50 for second place (both courtesy of First Bank of Sea Isle City), and a floral arrangement for third place (courtesy of Rocky and Fred’s Creative Design Florist).
“This is a wonderful holiday event that’s open to all property owners and residents,” said garden club volunteer Eleanor Moore. “Each year while judging, we see many beautifully-decorated homes that are not registered in the contest, so we can’t consider them for prizes. We encourage everyone in town to register this year.”
