OCEAN CITY – A craft festivals featuring 150 one of a kind artisans displaying and selling quality hand made products will raise money for local charities here in November.
The festivals are produced by JoAnne and Norman Schaut, Ocean City residents who for years have been traveling the east coast recruiting outstanding crafters for their events. Norman Schaut was the founder and producer of Atlantique City, the largest indoor Arts and Antiques Festival in the world, before he sold it eight years ago.
Rather than retire, Schaut decided to “give something back” to his beloved Ocean City. With his wife JoAnne, he began the craft shows to support local charities such as the Ocean City Food Cupboard and the Atlantic City Rescue Mission.
The Holiday Celebration of Fine Crafts, Nov. 19-20 at the Music Pier will feature a completely different roster of 150 Artisans and products. This keeps the show fresh and interesting to many crafts enthusiasts in the Delaware Valley.
Recent reviews in Crafters Guide underscore the quality of the festivals. “A perfect mix of quality crafts and fine art. We have never seen such talent in one place. What a wonderful array of goodies.”
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. An admission donation of $3 goes directly to local charities. In addition to the Food Cupboard and Rescue Mission, proceeds have supported The Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine, the Atlantic Riding Center for the Handicapped, the American Red Cross and Salvation Army.
