Historical and Genealogical Society To Host Historic House Tour

By Lenora Boninfante

COURT HOUSE – Join us for the Third Annual Historic House Tour on May 18 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. At least 8 exciting houses—most of them never open to the public before—are on the tour this year. Among them are an Arts and Crafts style cottage in Stone Harbor (built in 1915 by an architect for himself) that barely changed from its original appearance, a farmhouse outside of Tuckahoe that is currently being restored to its ca. 1850 appearance and a Victoria era charmer in Cape May Court House complete with original stained glass windows.
A box lunch will be available for $8 the day of the tour at the Cape May County Historical and Genealogical Society’s headquarters at 504 Route 9 North, Cape May Court House. Advance sale tickets are being offered for $15 and $20 the day of the event. Additionally, members of the Historical Society will receive a 10% discount. Tickets can be purchased at the Cape May County Historical and Genealogical Society, 504 Route 9 North, Cape May Court House, NJ, by calling the Historical Society at 609-465-3535 or on-line at www.cmcmuseum.org under Calendar of Events. Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event at the Historical Society.
