Hereford Inlet Celebrates National Lighthouse Day

The Hereford Inlet Lighthouse invites all to come celebrate 225 years of great lighthouse heritage, history and the contributions they have made to provide safety and guidance to ships at sea. There will be free admission to the lighthouse Aug. 7 beginning at 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The formal ceremony begins at 10 a.m. and will continue until 11:30 a.m., with keynote speaker, Captain Todd Prestidge, Commanding Officer at the U. S. Coast Guard Training Center of Cape May, New Jersey. In addition, there will be other distinguished guest speakers, music, authors, artists, food, special exhibits and a children’s activity area.
