WILDWOOD – Families at the Jersey Shore will have the opportunity to enjoy the ultimate Harlem Globetrotter experience exclusively in the Wildwoods, during the summer of 2013. The Globetrotters will play four games and host four clinics at the Wildwoods Convention Center from Aug. 7 through Aug. 10. Games begin nightly at 7 p.m.
The Wildwoods Convention Center will host a special “local presale” at the box office on May 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the presale, fans will save up to 40% off on tickets with prices starting at only $11.25 (regularly $19).
The Globetrotters are also offering 2-hour Skills Clinics on the official Wildwoods Convention Center court during each game day, Aug. 7, 8, 9 and 10, from 2 – 4 p.m. Designed for fans ages six to 12, each clinic will be led by Globetrotter stars. Participants do not need prior basketball experience. A spot in the clinic costs $75 and includes a voucher for one complementary ticket to any of the four games (valued up to $44). Space is limited.
The Globetrotters are returning to the Wildwoods for the third consecutive year after wildly successful games in the Wildwoods in 2011 and 2012. Similar to previous years, the team will have a strong presence in the local community in advance of the games including anti-bullying assemblies at several Cape May County schools in June.
Sponsored by Howard Johnson Hotels, Wonderful Pistachios, Greyhound Lines, Spalding and Russell Athletic, the Original Harlem Globetrotters are celebrating their 87th consecutive year, continuing a world-famous tradition of ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry and one-of-a-kind family entertainment that continues to thrill fans of all ages. Throughout their history, the Globetrotters have showcased their iconic talents in 122 countries and territories on six continents, often breaking down cultural and societal barriers while providing fans with their first-ever basketball experience. Proud inductees of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the Globetrotters have entertained hundreds of millions of fans—among them popes, kings, queens, and presidents—during more than eight thrilling decades.
