The Atlantic City Aquarium continues its popular preschool Story Time on Tuesdays in October with a new selection of fishy tales and a special story in honor of Halloween.
Story Time on Tuesdays is an educational event that introduces preschoolers and their parents to more than just books. The activities begin at 11 a.m. with a story.
• Tuesday, October 11: Jenny Jellyfish, A Tale of Wiggly Jellies — Jellyfish aren’t really fish at all. Find out more amazing facts about these animals with no heart, bones or brains.
• Tuesday, October 18: Flossie Flounder, A Tale of Flat Fish — Learn about self-esteem from this tale about a baby that looks nothing like its mother.
• Tuesday, October 25: Come in costume and enjoy a special Halloween story and treats.
Story time is followed by an Exotic Animal Show on October 18, and by a Dive Show on October 11 and 25.
The Exotic Animal Show features the largest species of scorpion in the world and the softest furred mammal in the world. Aquarium handlers discuss their native habitats, their suitability as pets, natural defenses and predatory instincts other interesting facts. Throughout the interactive show, visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions.
The Live Diver Feeing Show allows visitors to watch, and interact with, divers in scuba gear as they-hand feeds the stingrays and sharks inside the 25,000-gallon tank.
Children and parents can stay for feeding time at the Shark and Ray touch tank at noon.
Located in Atlantic City’s Historic Gardner’s Basin, the Atlantic City Aquarium is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
