Halloween in the Wildwoods to Offer a ‘Spooktacular’ Time for All Ages

WILDWOOD – Halloween in the Wildwoods will be full of tricks, treats and fun events for all ages starting Oct. 25 through Oct. 31.
Oct. 25
Boardwalk Pumpkin Run
The Wildwoods Boardwalk Pumpkin Run is a fun and exciting family event for all ages. The festive boardwalk event begins at 10 a.m. Oct. 25 at the Wildwoods Convention Center, rain or shine, and offers a 5K run along with a one-mile family walk. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and vie for prizes in the best dressed categories of Family, Youth, Infant and Best All-Around. All proceeds benefit Wildwoods’ Elementary Schools located on the Island. Registration is $25 for adults and $10 for 18 and under. All participants will receive a Pumpkin Run T-shirt. Paranormal Tour at the Wildwoods Shore
The Paranormal Tour at the Wildwoods Shore will be held at the George F. Boyer Museum on Pacific Avenue in Wildwood Oct. 25. An interactive paranormal tour at the former site of a funeral parlor, the event is presented by Teen Paranormal Society. Smart phones and ear plugs are necessary to participate. Oct. 26
Island Pumpkin Fest
The Island Pumpkin Fest will be held at Fox Park and on the Wildwoods Beach, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 26. Craft and food vendors, a bounce house, a costume contest and entertainment will be in Fox Park. A Hay ride will start on the beach at Andrews Avenue and go to the Great Pumpkin Patch on the beach behind the Wildwoods Convention Center. Featured live entertainment will be Country Rock artist Dave Hangley and DJ entertainment by “DJ Eddy B” of “Good Times Music” and “DJ Master J” of “Master DJ and Sound LLC.” For more information call 609-374-6213.
Oct. 30
Halloween Trunk-or-Treat
Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. the Wildwood Crest Recreation Department will host their Annual Halloween Trunk-or-Treat. The event consists of adults bringing their Halloween-decorated vehicles to the Wildwood Crest Pier parking lot at Heather Road and Ocean Avenue, where they will distribute candy from the trunks of their vehicles to children outfitted for Halloween. The event includes other Halloween related activities, a DJ, refreshments and prizes awarded to the best decorated vehicles. Trunk-or-Treat is a free event, but vehicles must be pre-registered to take part. Registration forms are available at the Crest Pier Recreation Center. Oct. 31
Greater Wildwood Elks Halloween Haunted House
Oct. 31 – Halloween evening – the Greater Wildwood Elks will host a free Halloween Haunted House at the Elks Lodge, located at 1stand Olde New Jersey Avenues in North Wildwood. Trick-or-Treaters can walk through a “Haunted House” and receive treats from 5 – 8 p.m. For additional information call 609-729-5776.
North Wildwood Trunk or Treat and Block Party
Also all new for 2014, it’s the North Wildwood Trunk or Treat and Block Party Oct. 31 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. on Olde New Jersey Avenue between 2nd and Chestnut Avenues in North Wildwood. Parents are encouraged to bring their automobiles decorated for Halloween. Children will come in costume and visit each car where families will provide treats from the trunks of their cars.
