GWCOC Foundation to Host 15th Annual Restaurant Showcase

By Sponsored Content

WILDWOOD – This year’s Annual Restaurant Showcase will take place Wednesday, May 14, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bolero Resort & Conference Center Blue Water Grille.
Sponsored by the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the popular event serves up delectable entrée samples and desserts from some of the Wildwoods’ finest restaurants and specialty shops. The event also includes a Chinese Auction featuring valuable items donated by members.
All of the event’s proceeds are used for scholarships that the Foundation awards to qualifying students who reside in one of the Wildwoods. This year $10,000 will be awarded.
The 2014 scholarship recipients will be specially honored at next month’s events. This event is one of my favorites, because it’s so personal to the community,” said Tracey DuFault the Foundation’s executive director. “It’s very local! As much as we love our Sensational Spring and Fabulous 50s Weekends because they are major tourist events, this event is all about the girl or boy next door who will be earning a scholarship to help put them through college. So many people love this event and they’re so passionate about it. Restaurants donate their time and food, and everyone gets a taste of what these restaurants offer.”
“How can you go wrong? Many people donate items for the Chinese Auction, participating restaurants donate their best food, and members of the community buy tickets – everyone contributes, and it just gets bigger and better every year.”
Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased in advance by calling 729-4000 or at the door on the evening of the event.
