NORTH WILDWOOD – The presidential campaign that’s playing out in the media today, against a backdrop of political horrors around the world, is proof positive that democracy, for all its imperfections, is the best form of government.
And it’s the Greeks that we thank for conceiving of democracy, as well as creating the foundations for every field of knowledge from law to mathematics to ethics.
Sat., March 24, this City will acknowledge these contributions to civilization as we celebrate Greek-American Heritage with a ceremony at noon at the Island of the Flags in front of the Rec Center at 900 Central Ave, North Wildwood.
The Greek Independence Day Ceremony will begin with the raising of the Greek flag and a program of speakers, including North Wildwood Mayor Bill Henfey.
Henfey said, “We welcome this opportunity to celebrate Greek Heritage, and all of our many neighbors of Greek ancestry.”
