WEST CAPE MAY — The West Cape May Environmental Commission presents Free Pizza and Family Movie Night from 6-8 pm on Feb. 27 at West Cape May Boro Hall, 732 Broadway, West Cape May. The movie, Epic, is an animated adventure from the creators of Ice Age and Rio.
Epic was inspired by the characters in William Joyce’s children’s book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs. The story centers on a teenage girl who is transported to the magical world of the forest. She is recruited by a nature spirit to help the ‘leafmen’ protect and save the forest, its’ eco system and all the creatures that live there. This movie has a subtle eco message. In a most entertaining way, Epic shows that the world of nature is a very fantastic and magical place that is fun to explore but also needs our help to stay protected for future generations.
This is a fun family movie that is rated PG. Free pizza will be offered at 6 p.m. Before the movie, local artist/teacher, Janet Payne, will lead children in creating their own ‘leafmen’ and ‘nature fairies’ from pinecones and other natural materials.
