SEA ISLE CITY – As a way to thank her many students and launch National Yoga Month in Sea Isle City, Yoga Instructor Teri O’Connor, E-RYT, will offer a free Yoga class on Sea Isle’s JFK Boulevard Beach at 7:30 a.m. on Labor Day Mon., Sept. 5. The free session will be open to the public and all are invited to attend. According to O’Connor, everyone – those new to Yoga as well as experienced students – will “find a place to flow” during this enjoyable class.
As she typically does during her other Yoga classes on the sand, O’Connor will use a wireless sound-system so all participants will be able to clearly hear her instructions.
2011 will mark the second year in a row that a free Labor Day Yoga class will be offered in Sea Isle City. During National Yoga Month, teachers are encouraged to share the many positive health benefits of yoga with the general population, and O’Connor hopes to see a number of familiar faces as well as many new-comers on Sept. 5.
“This is my way of saying thank you to everyone who has shared in our Beach Yoga classes this season, to celebrate the revitalization of Sea Isle City, and to invite those who have never tried Yoga to give it a chance,” said O’Connor. “Sea Isle City is a great community with the nicest people, and there’s always room on the beach for everyone. On Sept. 5, all you need to bring is a towel or a Yoga mat, water and a smile. If you can breathe, you can do Yoga. The ocean sounds relax us, the sunshine energizes us and the sand helps us get stronger.”
After the free Labor Day Beach Yoga class, O’Connor will continue to lead Mon., Wed. and Fri. morning Yoga classes on Sea Isle’s JFK Boulevard Beach throughout the month of September. Then, in Oct., she and her students will resume classes inside Sea Isle’s Community Lodge, JFK Boulevard and Park Road. O’Connor’s NJ Beach Yoga class, which is offered in cooperation with Sea Isle City’s Department of Recreation, is just one of many fitness programs available in the resort.
