SEA ISLE CITY – The United States Air Force Heritage Ramblers Dixie Band will perform at 7:00 p.m. June 18, at the Excursion Park Band Shell, located on JFK Boulevard at Pleasure Avenue in Sea Isle City. The concert is free and open to the public. The Heritage Ramblers Dixie Band features the diverse talents of six professional Airman-musicians whose commitment to excellence has earned worldwide acclaim and military distinction. The New Orleans style Dixie group delights audiences with fun and engaging performances that include patriotic and original music in the style of Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Jack Teagarden, and Bix Beiderbecke.
The USAF Heritage Ramblers, a part of the Heritage of America Band, was formed in 2010. Under the leadership of TSgt John Garcia, the group’s mission is to preserve and present the rich heritage of traditional jazz as they bring the sounds of New Orleans and Chicago to life in each performance.
Activated in 1941, The United States Air Force Heritage of America Band has a rich history of inspiring public patriotism and enhancing esprit de corps among all the U.S. military service branches. These world-class musicians are stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia. They travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, presenting over 300 events annually for the general public and in support of Airman morale and protocol events. The USAF Heritage of America Band remains at the forefront of communicating Air Force core values and preserving and enriching America’s military and musical heritage into the 21st century.
