Fourth Mutt Strutt Slated in Cape May

By Press Release

CAPE MAY — Area dog owners and their canine companions are invited to stroll Cape May’s Beachfront Promenade on Sat., Sept. 18. The Mutt Strut is truly an “every dog has its day” event, the one opportunity each year for participating dogs and their owners to enjoy a morning on the Promenade. At the same time walkers support a worthwhile cause, with half the event’s proceeds for the shelter-building fund of Animal Outreach.
Owners can strut with their dog anytime from 8 a.m. to noon, for $1 per leg ($2 per person, $4 per dog); children under 10 are free with an adult. Registration is outside Convention Hall, Beach Avenue, rain or shine, starting at 8 am.
This is a fun family event with door prizes, giveaways, auction and children’s activity table, along with educational materials on dog ownership, training and animal adoption.
The fourth annual Mutt Strut, sponsored by the Cape May County Dog Obedience Training Club, is being held as part of the American Kennel Club (AKC) Responsible Dog Ownership Day. This is a nationwide initiative to educate the public about the importance of being a responsible dog owner and the need for owners to train their pets to be good citizens.
