WILDWOOD CREST — Old time rock and soul, specifically from the girl groups of yesteryear, will soon come alive at Centennial Park.
Making their inaugural appearance at the Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series, the First Ladies of Rock and Soul will turn back the clock and perform the top hits of the many girl group groups that dotted the musical landscape of the 1960s. The show is scheduled for Aug. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
Comprised of a group of 14 seasoned singers and musicians, First Ladies of Rock and Soul re-creates a note-for-note presentation of the most popular recordings by the Supremes, Ronettes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Chiffons, Marvelettes, Shirelles, Mary Wells, the Crystals and more.
Saturday’s event is a free all-ages show. Attendees should bring a blanket or a chair.
Centennial Park is located at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue.
The Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series, supported by the Wildwood Crest Tourism Development Commission, consists of live music every Wed. and Sat. at 7:30 p.m. at Centennial Park through Aug. 30.
