Exit 0 Jazz Festival Featured in Photo Exhibit

By Press Release

CAPE MAY — Last year’s inaugural Exit 0 International Jazz Festival in Cape May is celebrated in a special exhibition of photography at the nation’s leading jazz radio station.
A colorful mural by photographer George Wirt of the three-day Cape May music event is featured in “One More Time… Once!” a show of jazz photography at WBGO Jazz 88.3 FM.
The mural is made up of large images embossed on metal plate. They showcase the live performances of musicians and vocalists at the November 2012 Exit 0 Festival which was launched by Cape May-based music impresario Michael Kline.
The large-scale artwork includes images of Ramsey Lewis, Christian McBride, Mark Murphy, Nicholas Peyton, Sachal Vasandani, Claudia Acuna, Freddie Hendrix and Michael Dease in performances at the Cape May Convention Hall and other venues throughout the landmark Jersey shore community.
The exhibition also displays nearly four dozen framed images by Wirt and fellow jazz photographer Tony Graves of other Exit 0 Festival performances and of jazz artists including George Benson, Pat Metheny, David Sanborn, Tony Bennett, Jimmy Heath and others in live performances on concert stages throughout New Jersey.
The Exit 0 Festival returns to historic Cape May on Nov. 8, through Nov. 10, with performances by Diane Reeves, Eddie Palmieri, Kenny Garrett, the Aaron Diehl Quartet, the Bruce Barth-Gary Bartz Duo, Etienne Charles and many others.
