Exhibits and Programs at WheatonArts in October and November

MILLVILLE – Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center will offer a variety of programs, workshops and intensives working with hot glass, and a variety of interactive activities for children and their families in October and November.
Exhibits:
■ “Wheaton Glass: The Art of the Fellowship” in the Museum of American Glass through Jan. 5, 2014.
■ “Remembering Ginen: Haitian Vodou Bottles, Flags and Vèvè” in the Museum of American Glass through Jan. 5, 2014.
■ “All Good Things Great and Small, Handcrafted Holiday Gifts” in The Gallery of Fine Craft. Oct. 19 through Dec. 24, 2013.
Programs:
■ Culinary at WheatonArts. Presented by Sweets Suite Bake Shoppe Café. Experiences include Halloween at Graham Manor, “Corny” The Autumn Sun, Fall Fondant Cupcakes, Mini Marzipan Thanksgiving Dinner, Gingerbread Families, Happy Holidays from Graham Manor, Yule Logs, and Edible Snowmen Cupcakes. ■ Oct. 26 through November 3. Customer Appreciation Week in the Museum Stores. Mystery Discounts. Receive a free Eco tote bag when you visit if you are on our mailing list or would like to join the list. One customer will receive a $250.00 Shopping Spree. Sign up in the stores during the week.
■ Oct. 27. Hallo-Wheaton Trick or Treat and Children’s Shows. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free admission.
■ Nov. 2. Join local woodcarver Domenick Maggio in the Brownstone Emporium Christmas Shop from 1 to 3 p.m. He explain the carving processes he uses as he works on one of his Santa ornaments.
■ Nov. 8. Studio Wide Open with the Creative Glass Center of America Fellows in the Glass Studio at 6:30 p.m. Free and open to the public. Meet and greet the new Fellows: Valentin Manz (Germany, Great Britain, U.S.), Maria Bang Espersen (Denmark) and Stine Bidstrup (Copenhagen, Denmark). Watch artist demonstrations. Light refreshments will be available.
■ Nov. 10. Spirits In Sequins: Vodou Flags of Haiti. Special presentation by Nancy Josephson. Noon to 1 p.m.
■ Nov. 10. Remembering Ginen: Traditional Music and Dance of Haiti. Featuring La Troupe Makandal of New York. 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Included with admission to WheatonArts.
■ Nov. 24. Hanukkah Celebration in the Glass Studio. Time to be determined.
■ Nov. 29 through Dec. 8. Annual Holiday Studio Sale in the Event Center. Free admission to the sale. WheatonArts prototypes, seconds and overstocks, studio glass by Melanie Guernsey and David Leppla, and a wide selection of pottery by WheatonArts artist, Terry Plasket, at discounts of 30 to 70 percent.

Nov. 23 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Blowing Intensive. Dec. 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WheatonArts will be open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Jan. 5, 2014. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. An admission ticket is required to visit the Museum of American Glass and Artist Studios. Adults $10.00, $9.00 Senior Adults and $7.00 Students. Children five and under are free. It is free to shop and stroll at WheatonArts except during outdoor special events. The Museum Stores will be open seven days a week from Nov. 29 through Dec. 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
