Exciting Acts Planned for 20th Annual Rubber Ducky Regatta

WILDWOOD — United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) just announced several new and exciting additions to the 20th Annual United Way Rubber Ducky Regatta that is set to make a splash on Aug. 18, 2013 at Morey’s Piers Mariner’s Landing in Wildwood, starting at 7:00 p.m.
During the event, thousands of rubber racing ducks will take to the water for a race around the waterpark to support UWGPSNJ and their work to improve Education, Income and Health in Cape May County. Entry is just $5 and includes a souvenir rubber ducky. Ducks are on sale now at locations throughout the county including Morey’s Piers.
And to celebrate the milestone year, several new and exciting activities are planned including:
• An acrobatics and contortionist performance by the students of Art of Gymnastics and Cheer and members of the New Jersey Acrobatic & Contortion Company (NJACC)
• 4:30 p.m.: contortion solo by Thomas Shute titled “King Titan” on the Boardwalk in front of Morey’s Pier
• 5:00 p.m.: acrobatics performance by students from Art of Gymnastics and Cheer inside Morey’s Pier
• 5:45 p.m.: “Contortion Elegance”, an award-winning blend of acrobatics and extreme flexibility featuring members of the New Jersey Acrobatic & Contortion Company (NJACC) will take place at in front of the Ghost Ship Amusement Ride inside Morey’s Pier
• Miss New Jersey 2012 Lindsey Petrosh will provide free face painting on the Pier from 4-6 pm
• The 95.1 WAYV party patrol will also be on site starting at 4pm with games, prizes and chances to win concert tickets to the Made in America Concert in Philadelphia on Aug. 31 featuring Beyoncé.
In addition, nearly 50 prizes have been donated by local vendors to accompany the winning ducks, including: a $500 ShopRite gift certificate, two custom cruisers from Zippy’s Bikes in Wildwood, season passes to Morey’s Piers, a flat screen television, a spa day at Salon 41, an Atilis Gym membership, and more!
