COURT HOUSE – Check out these upcoming events and activities to be hosted by the Cape May County Library!
County Library Hosts New York Times Best-Selling Author Lisa Scottoline
The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend the Cape May County Library Speaker Series: Justice & Fiction” with New York Times best-selling author Lisa Scottoline at 6 p.m. on June 3. The lecture will take place at the Sea Isle City Library, 4800 Central Avenue, Sea Isle City.
Scottoline will discuss views and themes of justice in fiction. She has developed a similar lecture for her college course that she teaches at her alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Following the lecture, there will be a question and answer session and book signing. Her latest book, Don’t Go, will be available at no cost. Patrons can bring up to two books for signing.
As the author of 19 novels, including the thrillers Final Appeal, Come Home and her latest, Don’t Go, Scottoline also writes the weekly column “Chick Wit” for The Philadelphia Inquirer and is president of the Mystery Writers of America, known for their warm and down-to-earth characters. Scottoline’s books have landed on all the major bestseller lists, including
The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and The Los Angeles Times. Hailed for having “the best-branded franchise style in current crime writing,” Scottoline was awarded the Edgar Award given for excellence in crime fiction and was named a “PW Innovator” by Publishers Weekly.

County Library Offers Program on the Amazon Kindle
The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend the program, “The Amazon Kindle” taught by the Technology Learning Center at 6:30 p.m. on May 14. The program will take place at the Main Library, 30 W. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.
Geared toward the Kindle Fire and the novice user, learn how to get the most out of your Kindle. You will learn the basics of navigation as well as how to download library books. Please feel free to bring your own Kindle and we will have several types on hand for demonstration.

Come learn what combinations taste the best and sample some herb infused water. Shaughnessy will share her knowledge of herbs with you in this tasty presentation.
“Herb Infused Waters: Drink Healthy” is part of the May “Water Matters Series” presented by the Cape May County Library in conjunction with Cape May Forum. County Library Celebrates National Maritime Day in May
The Cape May County Library will host a display during May celebrating our maritime heritage. The public is invited to view the display and also to celebrate National Maritime Day on May 22 at the Lower Cape Library, 2600 Bayshore Road, Villas. Additionally, May 18 at 1:30 p.m., there will be a presentation and movie given by the SS United States Conservancy on the SS United States. Exhibits are presented by the Bayshore Discovery Project, Cape May County Maritime Museum and the county library. For more information, contact the library at 886-8999.
County Library Hosts Yoga for Kids and Teens
The Cape May County Library invites kids and teens ages 7 through 18 to a series of introductory yoga classes on Mondays in May and June. The classes will take place at 3:45 p.m. at the Main Library, 30 W. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.
The classes will be held on the following Mondays at 3:45 p.m.: June 3 and 10.
Kids and teens are invited to join us for an exploration of the practice of yoga. The focus of the class will be learning basic postures, breathing techniques, learning the art of movement and the art of being still. If you are interested in attending, please bring either a yoga mat or a large towel and wear loose fitted clothing that allows for movement. Registration is not required for these classes. County Library Offers Computer Class
The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend the class, “My Second Computer Class” taught by the Technology Learning Center at 2 p.m. on May 22. The class will take place at the Main Library, 30 W. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House. Take the next step to being friends with your computer. In this class, you will learn about hardware, software and how they work together.

County Library Offers Program on Facebook
The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend “Introduction to Facebook” taught by the Technology Learning Center at 10 a.m. on May 24. The program will take place at the Main Library, 30 W. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.

The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend the program on “Mobile First Aid” taught by the Technology Learning Center at 2 p.m. on May 30. The program will take place at the Main Library, 30 W. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House. Taking care of your phones and mobile devices can be a challenge. Let us show you some quick and easy apps and settings to keep them safe and healthy. No registration required. The Cape May County Library is pleased to offer a wide variety of health and exercise courses throughout the week. Classes are free and registration is not required.
