East Lynne Theater Company Offers Comps for ‘Carousel’

Poster for “Carousel”

By Press Release

“If I Loved You,” “Mr. Snow,” “When the Children are Asleep” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone” are just a few of the songs from Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein’s “Carousel.”
Originally on Broadway in 1945 based on the play “Liliom” by Ferenc Molnar, the film premiered in February 1956. The story revolves around carnival barker, Billy Bigelow (Gordon MacRae), who falls in love with a factory worker, Julie Jordan (Shirley Jones), in a small town in Maine. Settling down is not easy for Billy, and his plan to make “quick” money goes awry.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of this timeless classic, Fathem Events is screening the film in theaters nationwide, featuring an interview with Shirley Jones, on Sunday, Jan. 8 and Wednesday, Jan. 11 at both 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Rodgers & Hammerstein Theatricals has graciously offered complimentary tickets to East Lynne Theater Company, and ELTC is pleased to pass these on to patrons as a thank you for supporting this Equity professional theater. After looking over the list of movie theaters, ELTC selected three from which to choose and asks that only two comps be requested per person.
To request comps, email eastlynneco@aol.com with your name, number in your party (1 or 2) and theater you wish to attend with the date and time. This is on a first-come-first-served basis. ELTC will then send this list to R&H, and R&H will send tickets digitally to those who requested them.
The three theaters are: Hamilton Commons 14, 4215 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing; Bridge Upenn 6, 4012 Walnut St., Philadelphia; and Empire 25, 243 West 42nd St., NYC.
