The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company celebrates its 35th year.
From June 17 – July 25, it’s “Mr. Lincoln,” selected to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the President’s assassination. While the Lincolns were watching a comedy, John Wilkes Booth approached. “Huckleberry Finn,” a world premiere based on Mark Twain’s classic, adapted by James Rana, is from July 29 – September 5. Huck, running away from his father, meets Jim, a runaway slave, and their adventure on the Mississippi River begins. Rana adapted the well-reviewed “Zorro!” for ELTC last season.
“Strictly Dishonorable,” a 1929 Broadway comedy hit by Preston Sturges, is in the fall. The lives of a young couple are changed forever when they enter a Manhattan speakeasy.
In November, it’s “Detectives Holmes and Carter,” ELTC’s radio-style production, with two new mysteries: “The Adventure of the Red-Headed League” and “The Voice of Crime.
For the holidays, it’s “The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus,” based on L. Frank Baum’s novel, adapted and performed by Gayle Stahlhuth.
