Doobie Brother Loses Cancer Battle, Helped Local Museum

ERMA- Michael Hossack, 65, a drummer for the rock band, the Doobie Brothers, lost his battle with cancer, Mon., March 12.
He assisted the Forgotten Warriors Vietnam Museum here at the county airport by autographing a guitar with his fellow band members that was auctioned for $1,000 on behalf of the museum in 2007.

Hossack joined the Doobie Brothers before the recording of their second album. His drumming can be heard on Doobie Brothers hits such as “Listen to the Music,” China Grove” and “Black Water.”
Hossack was a New Jersey native who was visited by a number of friends and relatives when playing in Atlantic City. He was a Navy veteran who frequently played benefit concerts with the Doobie Brothers benefiting veteran’s charities.
He passed away in Wyoming surrounded by family members.
