CAPE MAY – On Oct. 27, in the Henry Sawyer Room of the Chalfonte Hotel at 301 Howard Street, the 2013 edition of the Cape May NJ State Film Fesival will close with a premiere screening of “Boardwalk II: Back to Wildwood” as part of a Sunday Brunch and Matinee that begins at 10:30 a.m.
“Boardwalk II,” from Boca Cape Films, will come on about 1 p.m. and will be the final film in this year’s festival as anchor of an Indie Films Triple Feature.
“Boardwalk II” is a sequel to “Boardwalk: Welcome to Wildwood By-the-Sea,” a 2004 documentary that also premiered at the Cape May festival, and was shown frequently on PBS.
“Boardwalk II” is the work of local film-makers Bob Ingram, Tony Deutsch, Anthony Deutsch, and Raymond Becker, and the sequel again follows self-proclaimed “Boardwalk rat” Bob Ingram on his travels along Wildwood’s fabled Boards, including interviews with legendary deejay Jerry Blavat, Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano, and various Boardwalk personalities and friends.
One critic, Harry Williford of Cineaste East, said of “Boardwalk II”: “I liked it better than the first one.”
A festival after-party is planned for the Tom Cat Restaurant on Rio Grande Ave. in Wildwood.
