CAPE MAY – Kids can learn about another era and play dress up with Victorian clothing from “Aunt Emilie’s Drawers,” during the Victorian Family Fair at the Emlen Physick Estate, Cape May’s only Victorian house museum, at 1048 Washington St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 29.
Have fun at a traditional Victorian fair with activities for the whole family, featuring crafts, collectibles, living history characters, and children’s activities including face painting, pony rides, Victorian toys and games, nature activities, animals and local non-profit organization exhibitors including the Department of Mosquito Control and Jersey Cape Beekeepers’ Association. Kids can tumble in the Tumble Bus and take kid-friendly tours of the Emlen Physick Estate. Refreshments are available for purchase and Rita’s Water Ice will be giving away free samples. Admission to Victorian Family Fair and parking are free. Teddy Bear Tea Parties at the Carriage House Café & Tearoom, on the grounds of the Estate, are served at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. during the Victorian Family Fair. Bring your own bear or dolly for a kid-friendly lunch with teddy bear music. Miss Jeanne and a special guest from The Cape May Teddy Bear Co. will present stories and activities for Teddy Bear Tea attendees and provide a goody bag.
Admission to the Teddy Bear Tea Parties is $18 for adults and $10 for children (ages 3-12) and advance reservations are required.
